Volunteer stories

Whether they're packing food parcels, sorting food at the warehouse or making clients teas and coffees, they are vital to the work we do. Without our volunteers, we'd just have food on shelves and lots of hungry people!

We are grateful to all of our wonderful volunteers who give up their time to help local people in crisis.

"Durham can often be a place defined by its divisions, whether between student and local or between the rich and the poor. I volunteer at the Foodbank because I believe God loves every single person equally and calls us to come together in community, and not to accept or remain comfortable with the division that has been created in our city. Spending time at Brandon has been a real joy because of the relationships that I’ve built with people who are different from me."
